Human Driven Labs LLC
Privacy policy
Effective and last updated August 8, 2026
Human Driven Labs LLC (“Human Driven Labs,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) builds privacy-minded software. This policy explains how we handle information when you visit our websites, use our applications, including Pantala, or contact us.
Pantala works on-device and sends us nothing. Our website has no advertising trackers or analytics. If you email us, we receive the information you choose to send.
1. Scope
This policy applies to websites, applications, support channels, and other software or services operated by Human Driven Labs that link to it (collectively, the “Services”). Third-party services have their own privacy practices.
2. Information we handle
Information you provide
If you contact us, we receive your email address, name if provided, the contents of your message, attachments, and any other information you choose to share. We use it to respond, troubleshoot, protect our Services, and maintain appropriate business records.
Website delivery data
Our hosting and infrastructure providers may automatically process limited technical information needed to deliver and secure the website, such as IP address, browser and device type, requested URL, referring page, date and time, and security or error logs. We do not currently use website analytics, advertising pixels, cross-site tracking, or profiling.
Purchases
Purchases are processed by the applicable app marketplace, such as Apple’s App Store. We do not receive or store your full payment-card details. The marketplace may provide limited transaction information and handles it under its own privacy policy.
3. Pantala’s on-device privacy
Pantala has no account system, advertising SDK, analytics SDK, cloud service, or server component. It does not collect or transmit personal information, identifiers, diagnostics, usage history, clips, takes, or exports. It does not require an internet connection.
Camera and motion tracking
Pantala uses the rear camera through Apple’s ARKit solely to estimate the iPhone’s position and movement in space. The camera image is not shown, recorded, saved, analyzed for content, or transmitted. Motion tracking runs only while a clip is open.
Photos, files, and local storage
You choose which videos to import through Apple’s system Photos or Files pickers. Pantala stores imported working copies, settings, and recorded takes in its private on-device app container. It requests add-only Photos access when you choose to save a rendered video. You can remove working copies in Pantala, and uninstalling the app removes its local container subject to Apple’s backup behavior and your device settings.
4. How we use information
We use information we receive only as reasonably necessary to:
- provide, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot the Services;
- respond to support requests and other communications;
- process and document transactions;
- prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, or unlawful activity;
- comply with law and enforce our agreements; and
- improve our software using feedback you choose to provide.
5. Disclosure of information
We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it for targeted advertising. We may disclose limited information:
- to vendors that host, secure, or support our Services, subject to appropriate contractual or technical restrictions;
- when required by law, legal process, or a valid governmental request;
- to protect rights, safety, property, and the integrity of the Services; or
- as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
Our current public website does not set advertising or analytics cookies. Infrastructure providers may use strictly necessary technologies to route traffic, prevent abuse, or protect the Services.
7. Retention
Pantala data remains under your control on your device. We retain support communications and related business records only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, to resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain security, and meet legal, accounting, or reporting obligations.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No system or transmission method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your privacy choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or information about our processing of your personal information, or to object or withdraw consent where applicable. To submit a request, email support@humandrivenlabs.com. We may need to verify your request. You may also have the right to appeal our response or contact your local privacy authority.
10. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
11. International use
Human Driven Labs is based in the United States. Information sent to us may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate, subject to applicable safeguards.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our Services or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy with a new “last updated” date and provide additional notice when required by law. Material changes to an application’s data practices will be disclosed as required before or when the relevant update becomes effective.
